Rehabilitation services - Rheumatology

Our Rheumatology Rehabilitation Team consists of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Therapy Assistant. They see patients referred by the consultants and GPs for Rheumatology conditions such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Hypermobility Syndrome and a wide range of other diagnoses including Osteoarthritis and Persistent Pain.

Your Therapist will work with you to create an individualised management program. This aims to maximize your ability to carry out daily activities, work based tasks and enjoy your leisure pursuits. Your management programme may include condition and exercise education, advice to improve function and manage your pain.

Other treatments might include splinting for the hands, relaxation techniques, wax therapy, hydrotherapy, electrotherapy, acupuncture and manual therapy. All the treatments are assessed on an individual basis.
