Patient Information – Senior consultants' and junior doctors' industrial action

Residents in King's Lynn, West Norfolk and surrounding areas, are urged not to delay seeking help from the NHS if they feel unwell, as the British Medical Association (BMA) has announced that junior doctors and consultants will undertake four days of joint industrial action in September and October.

Senior consultants will take part in strike action from 7am on 19 and 20 September and 2, 3 and 4 October.

Junior doctors will also be taking strike action from 7am on 20, 21 and 22 September and 2, 3 and 4 October.

We are working together with our healthcare partners to ensure we have robust plans in place to maintain the safety and welfare of our patients and our colleagues during the upcoming strike action.

The hospital's highest priority is to continue to provide safe and high-quality care for our patients and avoid disruption to our services where at all possible. We have plans in place to manage any impact that this industrial action may have, particularly in relation to urgent and emergency care.

If there are any changes to an appointment that you have scheduled at our hospital on any day of action, you will be contacted. If you do not hear from us, please assume your appointment remains unchanged and attend as planned. There may be fewer staff on duty that usual so please allow more time for your clinic appointment.

For more information, please see this press release.
