Transport links

Norfolk and the surrounding areas are known for rural beauty and you may assume that as a consequence travel links are few and far between, this is not the case.

The information contained on this page is intended to inform those thinking of moving to the area or taking a job here at the Trust, if you are looking for travel information to the hospital you should go to the ‘Getting to us’ area of this website.

Rail links

King's Lynn itself has a direct rail link to Cambridge, Ely and London, this means that normally with one interchange you can get directly to Stansted airport or connections to the Midlands or North. London can be reached within 90 minutes.

Norwich also has excellent rail connections and some of the nearby coastal towns such as Cromer and Sheringham have direct links to Norwich.

Norwich and Stansted airports are the most accessible airports in our area, however train links to others such as Gatwick and Luton are also straight forward.

Roads

Norfolk is served well by major roads linking to key routes such as the M11 and the A1M. The A47, A10 and A11 are all major roads that link to destinations both inside and outside of the area.

If you are looking to travel to one of the many coastal spots in this area they are all within a short car journey, for instance you can travel from King’s Lynn to Hunstanton in just 30 minutes.

To plan a journey by car or check travel times you can use one of the many online route planners such as the AA route planner.

Bus links

There are two main bus companies operating public services in the area, these are Norfolk Green and First. Norfolk Green tends to link all main destinations within Norfolk, providing drop offs at the Hospital itself. First connects towns and cities such as Great Yarmouth, Norwich, Dereham, Swaffham, King's Lynn and Peterborough.
