Are you interested in a career in the NHS? If so, QEH is passionate about equipping young people with valuable careers guidance and expanding access to healthcare career opportunities. Over 16
Shadowing and work experience opportunities are available in a number of areas at QEH. However, due to the nature of work carried out in certain departments there are restrictions with age and some areas are unable to offer shadowing experiences. Please be aware when you are making a work experience request that we cannot guarantee to fulfil it.
However, if you would like to apply for work experience please complete the following application form, download the pre-placement health questionnaire and return to the stated address/email. Please ensure you complete your application in full including the specific department that you are interested in and dates you are available. Partially complete applications will not be considered.

Military personnel/veterans and relatives
Please note the Trust is part of the Step into Health programme and offers work placements for individuals who have left the military, in the resettlement phase or are a relative/spouse. Please head to our Step into Health page to apply for a work placement as part of this programme.
Medical placements
If you are considering studying medicine at university and are currently studying A levels in Maths/Science, we may be able to arrange a placement to support your university application process.

Placements for student doctors and healthcare students
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn provides clinical placements for student doctors helping them to acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes to become professionally competent, informed practitioners who are capable of further professional development.
In addition, the Trust provides placements for other healthcare students, including nurses and unregistered care staff and midwives, and those students who specialise in Radiography, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Pharmacology, Speech and Language Therapy, Dietetics and Cardiorespiratory.
