Unfortunately, due to the nature of the hospital environment, we have restrictions with where we are able to place students under the age of 16. We are unable to place you in a patient facing area.
However, if you would like to

complete your application in full including the dates you are available.

We cannot guarantee to fulfil all work experience requests.
Shadowing and work experience opportunities are available in a number of areas at QEH. However, due to the nature of work carried out in certain departments there are restrictions with age and some areas are unable to offer shadowing experiences. Work Experience within rehabilitation services is arranged differently from main work experience. Further details of the programme is as follows:
· Students have to be at least 17 years old
· These are shadowing placements only
· Placements are offered three times a year with only a limited number of places available (those wishing to pursue a career in physio/OT are given priority)
o During the week of February half term
o During the week prior to Easter
o During the first week of the summer holidays
· Placements are offered for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 8:30am until 12:30pm
· Students are expected to attend for all three mornings of their placement
· Applicants will have the opportunity to shadow therapy staff in a variety of ward and out-patient settings
· All applicants are asked to complete an application form
· Successful applicants will be contacted in regards to their placement
Military personnel/veterans and relatives
Please note the Trust is part of the Step into Health programme and offers work placements for individuals who have left the military, in the resettlement phase or are a relative/spouse. Please head to our Step into Health page to apply for a work placement as part of this programme.

Placements for student doctors and healthcare students
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn provides clinical placements for student doctors helping them to acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes to become professionally competent, informed practitioners who are capable of further professional development.
In addition, the Trust provides placements for other healthcare students, including nurses and unregistered care staff and midwives, and those students who specialise in Radiography, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Pharmacology, Speech and Language Therapy, Dietetics and Cardiorespiratory.
