Car parking

*Parking will be free for all patients, visitors and staff. We hope this move will make this difficult situation slightly better for our patients and staff. It will also make it more affordable to everyone to use their cars, rather than public transport, to get to the hospital for urgent appointments and care, and to our staff who are coming into work to care for our patients. These changes apply to the QEH site in Gayton Road, Kingís Lynn, and at car parks at North Cambridgeshire Hospital in Wisbech, where services including community midwives and maternity clinics are based. *

Normal processes are shown below.

The QEH car parkA pay-and-display system is in operation in the hospital.

At times the car park can become very busy. Please allow yourself good time to find a parking space. Our car park is managed by an outside company and parking restrictions are enforced.

Parking spaces marked in blue are exclusively for the use of patients and visitors.

If you are using a satnav to find your way to the hospital our postcode is PE30 4ET.

The car parks at the Trust are managed in-house, with the enforcement role contracted out to an external service provider Ė currently the Borough Council of King's Lynn and West Norfolk.

Parking charges

Pay-and-display charges are currently:

0 - 2 hours: £2.60
Up to 3 hours: £3.90
Up to 4 hours: £5.20
Up to 5 hours: £6.50
Up to 8 hours: £10.40
8 to 24 hours: £15.60
Weekly ticket: £28.00
Blue badge holders: Flat rate of £2.00 for 24 hours

These can be purchased from the ticket machines using coins or cards and from the change machine in the main hospital entrance. Please ensure that you bring the correct change as our ticket machines do not issue change.

A change machine is available inside the hospital main entrance. If your hospital appointment takes longer than you anticipated and you are concerned that you may have over-stayed your parking limit, please inform the Ward Clerk and ask them to inform the Car Parking Manager, who will log the details of your vehicle and inform the Borough Council staff. The parking attendants will do all they can to assist if they are aware of your difficulties.

Disabled parking

More than 60 disabled parking spaces are available throughout the site. In addition Blue Badge holders may park elsewhere on the car park if these are occupied. They must display a valid Blue Badge and a £2 Pay and Display ticket.

Motorcycles park for free

Parking is free for motorcycles and you do not require a parking permit. Please be sure to park your motorcycle considerately; there are a number of suitable small spaces on the Main Car Park and an area adjacent to the Staff Entrance can also be used.
