Getting here

There are several options available when travelling to our hospital.

Active travel

Walking or running

Footpaths are located conveniently throughout the site. Some are shared with cyclists so please be aware.

The main pedestrian access points to the site a from:

  • Gayton Road via the main site entrance (which also links to nearby Fairstead estate and William Booth Road
  • Barton Close / Elvington via a zebra crossing next to the loading bay at the rear of the site

Walking routes are continuously considered as part of site development, to ensure access on foot is as easy as possible. If you have any questions or feedback about walking routes, please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service.

Cycling

King’s Lynn has a good network of cycle paths and routes, which provide shortcuts across the town, offering easy access to the hospital.

Please note if you leave your bike unattended in a cycle shelter for longer than three months, it will be removed.

Bus

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital

Up to 10 buses an hour call at the main hospital site from across West Norfolk. The first departure is shortly after 6.30am and the last before 10pm.

All direct bus services to the hospital are operated by Lynx bus. Lynx offer contactless payments and a variety of ticket types to suit the individual.

King’s Lynn Health Hub

The nearest bus stop is Nar Ouse Way – opp Sandpiper Way.  This stop is available on local bus routes First Excel A,  B and  C  and Go To Town 3H. The stop is just a three to four minute walk from the facility, across flat ground.

Train

King’s Lynn station is served by trains from Ely, Cambridge and London, and is about two and a half miles from the hospital. There are good bus options to get to the hospital from the station or you can walk or cycle to the hospital following dedicated cyclepaths or main roads.

Car

The hospital is well signposted from most parts of the town. If you visiting us from outside the area, there is easy access to the hospital from the Hardwick roundabout via the A149.
