NHS Forest

The NHS Forest is an alliance of health sites working to transform their green space to realise its full potential for health, wellbeing and biodiversity.

Inspiring and supporting healthcare sites

Newly planted hedgerow at Glenfield Hospital, Leicester

The NHS Forest started life as a tree planting project in 2009. Since then, more then 320 healthcare sites across the UK have joined the alliance and almost 100,000 trees have been planted on or near to their estates.

Anyone is welcome to sponsor a tree for the NHS Forest.

The sponsorship scheme is run by the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare and costs £10 per tree, which covers the cost of the tree itself, biodegradable stake and guard, and delivery. It also contributes to running the NHS Forest network so sites across the country can continue making the most of the available green spaces.

You could sponsor a tree to...

  • Say thank you to NHS staff
  • Commemorate somebody's life
  • Celebrate a birth
  • Give a lasting present to colleagues, friends or family
