Policy integration with System Acute Providers

The integration of policies across the three Norfolk acute Trusts aims to reduce variation, increase standardisation, and promote efficiency. A joint Procedural Document Development Policy was created, aligning policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and Clinical and Non-Clinical Guidelines to a single template. This makes it easier to combine documents and reduces administrative complexities.

In 2024, the policy was reviewed and expanded to include guidance for creating, adopting, reviewing, and approving joint documents. This supports system-wide collaboration and continuous improvement, as shown by the collaboration on over 20 policy documents.

In early 2025, steps were taken to streamline the approval process for joint Trust-wide policies. By reviewing and approving documents in a single forum, the process is faster and more efficient.

So far, 20 policies have been aligned as a result of this work.
