Supervisors of midwives

Supervisors of midwives are a group of midwives who support and promote safe, high quality midwifery care for women and babies.

For most queries and concerns your team midwife is the best person to talk to.

A Supervisor of Midwives is always available to support you too.

Who are supervisors of midwives?

Supervisors of midwives are experienced midwives who have undertaken additional education and training for this role. They are appointed and supported by the Local Supervising Authority and in their supervisory role are not managed by the Trust.

Supervisors of midwives support and promote safe, high quality midwifery care for women and babies. They work with local midwives to support your choices. They support the practice of midwives and ensure that the care offered is right for you and given in the right place, at the right time, by the right person.
