Outreach services at Fakenham Medical Centre

The Fakenham Medical Practice is one of the largest practices in Norfolk having a registered practice population of 15,000 patients. As well as serving the town of Fakenham the practice catchment area extends to a radius of approximately eight miles, taking in the many villages that draw on Fakenham for their local services.

It moved into its new purpose built premises, and has over 100 car parking spaces provided free of charge, on the outskirts of Fakenham in December 2011. It has a dedicated day surgery at which the QEH delivers a wide range of outreach clinics and procedures which do not require general anaesthetic.

A drug dispensing service is provided for 7,000 of these patients. There is also a 100 hour pharmacy co-located with the practice which is open 7 days a week, on average, over 14 hours a day.
