Pradeep Kumara

Radiographer

Pradeep Kumara

Pradeep came to the UK from Sri Lanka to join Team QEH as a radiographer in February 2022. He talked to us about how he’s settling in:

“I’ve been a radiographer for five years now and I was looking for somewhere to progress my career and continue my professional development.

“QEH made everything so easy: from the application process and the virtual interviews, right the way through to starting at the hospital and welcoming me as a member of Team QEH.

“People have been so supportive – helping me to learn new systems, improve my English language and my elocution, even learning the accent! I’ve had such a big, warm welcome here. I already feel really part of the team, which is very special.

“The wider team at QEH have sorted everything out for me and helped me to find accommodation too. Their support means all I have to think about is doing my job – I really appreciate that, it’s been an enormous help.

“I’ve had brilliant first couple of months. People have been very friendly and very open-minded – we all work as one team, in harmony, and that’s really important to me: it’s one of the key things I was looking for in my next role. There are some great career opportunities here at QEH, and it’s a very supportive environment with some of the most advanced technology available in the world.”

“King’s Lynn is a beautiful historical place, and very close to the hospital – and I’m really looking forward to doing some travelling around the UK too!”
