Meet our teams

Molly recently joined the team as a new pharmacy assistant at QEH. She talked to us about the welcome she’s received and how she’s finding her role and the team:

“When I started I was quite nervous, but people have just been their usual, general happy selves. They’ve been so welcoming when I ask for help – there’s nothing I feel I can’t ask or I’m too scared to ask.

“There are so many different departments within the pharmacy – I was really blown away by that. You can work in any one specific part of it and still be a member of this massive, supportive team

“There’s no end of ways that you can progress: even within my first few days people were telling me about the opportunities. There are pre-registration technician positions which become available every year and they really try and push people forward for those.

“I really want to work my way up to be a ‘med-rec’ technician” – (medication reconciliation technicians help obtain accurate medication histories by talking to patients and colleagues) – “I did a bit of work in my first few days with some of the med-rec team and that’s what really started it off. There’s always something you can train to do.”
