Learning Disability Declaration

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital has the following systems and processes in place in line with the recommendations of Healthcare for All, the report of the independent inquiry into Access to Healthcare for people with Learning Disabilities (DH:2008).

The Trust is developing a mechanism to flag patients with a learning disability.

In accordance with the duties outlined in the Disability Discrimination Act 2005, the Trust is able to provide accessible information.

The Trust has implemented disability awareness training.

The trust has employed a full time Learning Disability Liaison Nurse.

The Board level Executive Lead with responsibilities for Learning Disabilities is the Chief Nurse.
