Chris Benham

Director of Finance

Chris joined the team in January 2020 and is a qualified accountant.

He brings a mix of experience having worked within a variety of Finance roles within the NHS for 10 years and the private sector for 15 years.

He joined the Trust from the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, where he was the Director of Operational Finance for four years having spent the previous three years working as the Deputy Director of Finance at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust. Chris started his NHS career as the Assistant Director of Finance at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust in April 2009.

Prior to joining the NHS, Chris spent two years as the Group Financial Controller for a pan-European, private equity financed, manufacturing business following a 13-year career at Total UK, the UK downstream subsidiary of the French based oil and gas group.

Chris holds an honours degree in Economics and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
