Central Delivery Suite

Central Delivery Suite (CDS) is located on the first floor of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and is the place you may go to give birth to your baby if you have been under the care of a Consultant Obstetrician antenatally, or if you are to be induced. CDS also provides care for women during high risk episodes during their pregnancy.

CDS has 6 individual delivery rooms, and a delivery room with a birthing pool, it has its own theatre and recovery area.

From the moment you arrive your partner is welcome to accompany you, and will be able to remain with you at all times, until you have had your baby and either go home, or are transferred to Brancaster Ward. You are welcome to bring things from home that will help you to feel more relaxed and anything you feel will enhance your labour, such as music of your choice, battery operated candles or lighting, and any food you may particularly like to graze on.
