Outreach services at Littleport's St George's Medical Centre - Ophthalmology

We have three consultants within the department specialising in various areas of expertise and seven staff grade doctors who provide clinics under the management of the four consultants.

Our department has commenced a one stop service for the QEH glaucoma patients. This new service developed by Mr S Nagendran, Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon, has significantly improved the patient experience. We also have a nurse led glaucoma clinic.

Directory of services

Services included are:

• Fast Track Cataract Service - Direct referral system from optometrists. The pre-op assessment, surgery and postop follow up will all be held at Littleport
• Glaucoma Service - Referral from optometrists via the General Practitioner. The clinic and ancillary tests (GDX, Visual Fields) will all be held at Littleport
• Minor lid Procedure - Epiphora service (People with watery eyes can be assessed and appropriate treatment advised)
• General ophthalmic referrals of any other kind
