Fundraising Campaign: Dementia Care AppealImage text: QEH King's Lynn Charity - Dementia Care Appeal

Help us purchase specialist equipment and hand-picked activities to improve the experience of our patients living with Dementia.

For those living with Dementia a hospital stay can be especially daunting. With the support of our local community, our ambition is to raise £40,000 to create a more comfortable environment for our patients living with Dementia and ensure they have the best possible experience during their stay at QEH.

The money raised will enable us to carry out an important upgrade to our Reminiscence Interactive Therapy and Activities (RITA) devices and purchase additional systems. The devices support staff and volunteers to engage patients in meaningful activities such as listening to poetry or music.

These activities play an important role in helping our patients feel more at ease during their hospital stay and improving their wellbeing.

We also hope to purchase a number of hand-picked activity packs to include games, reminiscence cards and jigsaw puzzles, to entertain, boost confidence and independence, as well as 25 Dementia-friendly calendar clocks for each bay of the hospital’s 18 wards. The calendar clocks can reduce confusion and support patients living with dementia to easily access the day, date and time.

Individuals and organisations are invited to sponsor specific items of their choice, by contacting the Trust’s Fundraising team on 01553 613373 or laurence.morlaas@qehkl.nhs.uk.

With your help, we can make these important improvements to create a more Dementia-friendly QEH. Together we can make a difference.
