Arthur Levin Day Surgery Centre
The Day Surgery Unit is a self-contained unit that comprises of 4 operating theatres, 1 treatment room, a 6 bay recovery area and a 32 bed ward area. The majority of routine operations are performed as a day procedure that do not require an overnight stay; this benefits the patient as they can return to their normal home environment as soon as they have recovered from their anaesthetic, aiding a faster recovery therefore reducing the risks of post-operative complications and infections.
The team care for adults and children undergoing a wide range of surgical procedures using either general or local anaesthesia:
The Day Surgery Unit actively participates in the British Association of Day Surgery and the Association of Perioperative Practice in order to encourage growth and development of patient and staff experience.
The Day Surgery Unit has an enthusiastic highly skilled team, which includes: specialist day surgery nurses, paediatric nurses, Operating Department Practitioners, Assistant Theatre Practitioners, Theatre Support Workers, Health Care Assistants, clerical staff and housekeeping staff. We offer a supportive, exciting and challenging work environment and we are committed to the training and development of our staff in order to deliver excellent patient care.
