Carers Card

If you are an unpaid family carer.*

A Carers card, upon request, will be provided to one unpaid carer per patient. The card is dated for one week and carers should be encouraged to request an additional card if their loved one remains in hospital past this date. The card will enable the Carer to:

• Have open access visiting to be with the patient (bearing in mind current COVID-19 visiting restrictions)
• Be seen as a recognised partner in care
• Receive a 20% discount in the Hub restaurant
• Please also ask about concessionary car parking if this would enable you to continue to visit

*A carer is anyone, including children and adults who looks after a family member, partner or friend who needs help because of their illness, frailty, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction and cannot cope without their support. The care they give is unpaid. This is inclusive of both adult and young carers.
